“Chemical Dependency and the Family” will teach
coping skills for the family members of addicts and
alcoholics. It is presented by Karen Echelbarger,
BA, Dawn Farm therapist. It is part of the Dawn Farm
Education Series, a newly re-designed, FREE annual
workshop series developed to provide accurate, helpful,
hopeful, practical, current information about chemical
dependency and recovery, and dispel the myths and
misinformation surrounding this devastating but treatable
disease. All programs are free and open to anyone
interested. People interested in recovery, people
in recovery, family members and others affected by
chemical dependency, students and people who work
with chemically dependent individuals are all welcome.
All workshops will be held in Classroom EC-1 at the
Saint Joseph Mercy Health System Education Center,
5305 Elliott Drive, Ypsilanti, Michigan, from 7:30

“Teens
Using Drugs: What To Know and What To Do” is a
free, ongoing, two-part community education program.
The workshops are presented on the first (part 1)
and second (part 2) Tuesday evenings of each month
from October – June, from 7:30 to 9 PM, at the Saint
Joseph Mercy Health System Education Center, 5305
Elliott Dr., Ypsilanti, Michigan. Part 1 provides
information on how to understand and recognize the
signs of a teen substance abuse problem. Part 2 provides
information on what should and should not be done
when a teen substance abuse problem is recognized,
and includes a recovering teen speaker. It is presented
by Ronald E. Harrison, SW, and cosponsored by Dawn
Farm, Livingston/Washtenaw Safe and Drug Free Schools
Coalition, and Saint Joseph Mercy Health System. All
programs are free and open to all. Parents, family
members, teens, people who work with teens are encouraged
to attend.

“Alcoholics
Anonymous – A Panel Discussion”
will present a panel discussion about A.A., coordinated
