St. John Offers Heart Health Screening
Nov. 15 at Lake Shore Presbyterian Church. Cholesterol and blood pressure checks, body fat analysis and health counseling will be offered. Screening cost is $15 and $14 for CareLink members. Lake Shore Presbyterian Church is located at 27801 Jefferson Ave. north of Eleven Mile Road in St. Clair Shores. Pre-registration is required by call 1-888-757-5463, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekdays.


St. John Hospital and Medical Center Offers Stress Management Program

Stress is a physical, chemical or emotional factor that affects persons of all ages and walks of life. Although a mild degree of stress can be beneficial, it can cause major negative consequences when it is overwhelming or poorly managed.

St. John Hospital and Medical Center is now offering a Stress Management Program to help individuals manage stress.

The Stress Management Program, which is an integral part of the Preventive Cardiology Program at St. John Hospital and Medical Center is designed to assist individuals in coping with heart problems and the stressors in their life.

Individuals interested in determining if they are experiencing excess stress are invited to fill out an evaluation form which can be received by calling the St. John Hospital and Medical Center Preventive Cardiology office at 313-343-3490. Other services offered through the Preventive Cardiology Program include a lipid clinic (cholesterol management), diet/nutrition counseling, exercise evaluation and instruction and smoking cessation.
