Television news was a before, during, and after-dinner ritual in the Myers household. Seth Myers grew up watching more of Peter Jennings than the Smurfs, and while CHIPs was always a favorite show, he became more interested in worldly events than in motorcycles.

In the spring of 1998, Seth borrowed a friend's car to interview for a summer job at a Detroit TV station without a website. He's still here – planning, designing, and building detnow.com.

A consummate news junky and avid spectator of the political world, Seth is also a little bit of a computer geek. He was in the right place at the right time – a Philadelphia high school – when the word "surf" took on a new meaning. Prefixes like "hyper" and "cyber" were everywhere as Seth and his twin brother taught themselves how to design and build early websites.

Seth is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he majored in Political Science and Communication Studies. He still makes frequent jaunts to Ann Arbor to visit friends and shop for used CDs.

A resident of Royal Oak, he enjoys photography and now fools around with digital video on his PowerBook. He reads too much and sleeps too little. Seth appreciates a good doughnut and a well-brewed cup of coffee.

E-mail Seth at seth@detnow.com.
