Robbie Timmons

The anchor of Channel 7 "Action News Midday" and "Action News 5 P.M.", Robbie Timmons has carved out a distinguished niche for herself in the world of broadcast journalism. Timmons began her career in 1972 for WILX-TV in Lansing, Michigan where she became the first woman in the United States to anchor the 6 and 11 p.m. newscast for a network affiliate.

Timmons joined Channel 7 in 1982 as a general assignment reporter, and has been honored with multiple awards including several Emmys and the prestigious NATAS Silver Circle Award. She was also named Outstanding Woman in Broadcast News by the American Women in Radio and Television, as well as voted the most powerful women in Michigan in 2002.

Timmons is a graduate of Ohio State University in Columbus. She lives with her husband, sportscaster Jim Brandstatter, in Oakland County.
