JoAnne Purtan

JoAnne Purtan was named "Healthy Living" reporter in May of 2002. Since joining Channel 7 (June 1998) as co-anchor of "Action News This Morning," JoAnne's responsibilities have extended beyond merely anchoring. She has become an advocate for consumers, specifically women, drawing attention to the health issues and focusing on "awareness" pieces designed to improve quality of life. She has received three Emmy nominations for her outstanding health reports.

A Metro Detroit native and Michigan State University graduate, JoAnne grew up with her five sisters in Bloomfield Hills and remains close to her roots. She is a contributor to WXYZ's annual Woodward Dream Cruise coverage and the North American International Auto Show Charity Preview.

JoAnne and her husband Eric have two children, Lauren and Adam. They reside in Oakland County.
