Jerry Hodak
Back
in 1965, before the days of radar, live satellite
imagery and computer technology, veteran meteorologist
Jerry Hodak delivered the forecast to metro Detroiters
using magnetic numbers and one daily black and white
satellite photograph.
Today, as chief meteorologist and science editor for
WXYZ-TV Channel 7, Hodak runs metro Detroit's most
advanced and accurate weather center.
Hodak
brings viewers the "Doppler 7" forecast at 5, 6, 7
& 11pm on "Action News" and at 10pm on "UPN Detroit
Action News."
In addition to his local Emmy for a story on prostate
cancer, Hodak is the proud recipient of many other
awards including a NIWS award. He is active in many
charities including the Boys and Girls Clubs of America,
The Arthritis Foundation and American Cancer Foundation.
He has also served on the Warren Crime Commission.
Hodak has three daughters and three grandsons, and
lives with his wife, Peggy, in Wayne County.
