Carolyn Clifford
Carolyn Clifford was named co-anchor of "Action News This
Morning," in May of 2002. In addition to anchoring, Clifford
continues her role as "Healthy Living" reporter.
As
part of the "7 On Your Side" health team, Clifford works to
keep Metro Detroiters informed about the latest developments
in medical science and the effects they have on our community.
Prior to being named morning anchor, Clifford was co-anchor
of "Action News Weekend" at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Clifford came
to WXYZ-TV from WPGH-TV in Pittsburgh where she anchored the
10 p.m. newscast. Before that, she anchored the 10 p.m. news
at WLFL-TV in Raleigh, N.C. after serving as that stations
weekend anchor and medical reporter.
Clifford
has received several awards for her reporting and anchoring, including the 2003 Emmy Award for Best News Anchor. She often speaks at schools and community organizations.
She
is a Detroit native who graduated from Michigan State
University. Clifford is married and has 3 children.
