Chodun
On the street or in the courtroom, Channel 7 reporter Cheryl
Chodun has her finger on the pulse of metro Detroit.
An
"Action News" reporter since 1988, Chodun has built a reputation
as one of Detroit's most tenacious media personalities. She
began her career in journalism as a freelance newspaper reporter
for the Birmingham Eccentric and later wrote cover
stories for the Detroit News Sunday Magazine. She first
joined WXYZ-TV in 1978 as a writer and producer.
Chodun is the proud recipient of several awards including
the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award as well as two Emmys
for general excellence in reporting.
A
graduate of Wayne State University, she completed
her postgraduate work in journalism at Oakland University.
She resides in Oakland County with her husband, a
teacher and dean at Detroit Country Day School, and
has two grown children.
